Landon's Space Derby - 3rd Place

Here are a few photos from Landon's Space Derby contest. He took 3rd place! This was my first time to do the Space Derby, but we had a lot of fun together. He is now anxious to get started on his pinewood derby car.

Hallie's Middle School Play - Christmas Carole

Hallie is the one holding the tombstone with the round top. She has an awesome costume! She was a ghost with triplets from our branch the same age as her. It was a lot of fun for her!

Cecily's HS Formal Nov - 2010

Cecily's High School formal ... I can't believe she's growing up! These are some friends from school and church. I think it's pretty obvious which one's are from the church :-)

Elder Perkins Visit

Some of our youth with Elder Tony Perkins of the First Quorum of the Seventy. This was a youth fireside hosted at our house.

Hallie & Amelia

Hallie was reading to Amelia and she feel asleep on her ... so sweet!

She also painted a cat face on Amelia. I guess this is what you get when you leave your 11 year old alone with a 4 year old for an hour!

JinShangLin Great Wall Photos

We visited a new section of the wall about 90 minutes from our house. It was on the Harvest Moon festival at the end of September. Wow, what a beautiful day! It was absolutely perfect! The clearest skies I've ever seen in China and absolutely perfect weather. These photos actually show JinShangLan and Simatai. This section includes areas that have not been restored, which we were excited to see. Since it's farther away from Beijing, it's much less touristy and much less busy. It's also more dangerous. Definitely our favorite part of the wall, and we've been to four different areas. Enjoy!

Cecily's 8th Grade Formal

Well ... our little girl has grown up! She attended her first formal. She went with her best friend Abbie Toronto and Paul Lewis. Both are members in our branch. Dad had mixed feelings :-) Doesn't she look beautiful? Everyone she passed at the dance said "Whoa, Cecily you look so pretty!" Her teacher told her he thought she had the best dress. She really did look stunning.

Grandma Ward in China

The Hong Kong Temple is surrounded by busy city streets. It is wonderful to enter into a place that is so quiet and peaceful.
Hong Kong Temple

If you notice our beautiful tennis shoes. We did tons of walking all over Hong Kong. Grandma, at 72, still has a lot of "gettup and go".

Fundazzle

While Alison & Cec went to Hong Kong for the weekend I took the kids to a place in Beijing called Fundazzle. It's an old indoor swimming pool converted into a huge ball pit and playground. It's like a McDonald's playground on steroids! The kids had a blast.

Beijing Dust Storm

Every spring we get these dust storms that blow yellow dust in from the Gobi desert. A couple of weeks ago we had several days of terrible dust storms. The kids woke up and said what's wrong with the sky? The sky was literally yellow. It looked like you were wearing sun glasses. I'm not sure these pictures accurately capture it but it sure was interesting. Memories!
